The Association of Parents of Children with Special Needs Cvitić was founded on October 5, 2007 in Vela Luka with funds from the Municipality of Vela Luka and a donation from the artist Ella Fleš. Jasna Žuvela was elected president at the time, and today the position of president of the Association is held by Daniela Družić, also the mother of a child with special needs. The association has over 50 members, which are its residents, their families, volunteers and employees who gather in the Vela Luka Home for the Elderly.
The association was founded in order to promote, develop and advance work with children with special needs, as well as to promote a happier and more harmonious family life.
All members of the association, professional associates, volunteers, various institutions, associations, and legal and natural persons are involved in the work of the association. Given that the association is located on an island and many facilities are unavailable to us, the association provides alternative social services to its users and connects with the community.
